I shall start !
I have been shopping at L'Elegante in the delightful Yorkville area (downtown near Bloor and Bay) in Toronto for more than 25 years. Possibly more. I've also had some of my clothes and those of my late mum's there on consignment and have done well. It may look and sound sniffy and expensive - but it's not unless you aim for very high end - clearly marked. I'd say that 60% of my clothing is from this shoppe, much was never formerly worn (the owner culls from fashion shows and wholesalers too) and it caters brilliantly to all sizes. I adore this store. January and February are the best months to purchase winter items, and late Aug. the best for spring and summer articles.

Concerning other great shoppes in T.O. here is a terrific list done for me by blog! I have been to all of the shoppes listed, and I particularly like The Paper Bag Princess.

Bookreporter.com is a favorite. And, for music…allmusic.com. I catch up on television shows I like on Hulu.
News from the BBC and CNN. Human interest from some NPR programs.
I love browsing the “free stuff” on Craigs List.
I also read the New Yorker and the Atlantic online.
Okay, I just skimmed through my favorites for some things to share. You may now officially begin to wonder about my sanity.

Oh! A terrific site - thank you DD3 !!!
Wonderful sites so far everyone, the infomaniac thanks you!

This site is my home page. Arts & Letters Daily: A Service of the Chronicle of Higher Education. It's just packed full of interesting and informative reads. Divided into "Articles of Note", "New Books" and Essays and Opinions" there is also a side bar with links to a worldwide list of newspapers, magazines, editorials and blogs. Fascinating reading, and educational? An understatement! I liken my morning read as something akin to a college course in slippers.

Pssst - the Pam Ayres site is fabulous! Thanks Chez!

Thanks, Diana. I suppose I am much less serious, as you can tell.

And I cannot resist giving you this, as a response to your illustration, Cap'n:
