TBD on Ning

We made it up to 421 pages on TBD - it's too late to turn back now!

Again, the idea is to post as many song titles as you can think of for a given word - tho good etiquette counsels that you not "run the category" all at once. Give other people a chance to think and post - and dig down deep into those obscurities in your music collection. And don't switch too soon - just because *you* can't think of another title doesn't mean there's not (say) a Klezmer Klassic running through somebody else's head.

I'll include the carryover list of words we've done in the next post.

I heard this song exactly once on WLS radio's Sunday-night music show - the one where they played all the "weird" songs they'd never dare play during the week. Lying in bed, trying to steal a few more minutes of music time, I had the volume on my blue Motorola transistor calibrated to the level that obtained at the beginning of the song - but when the chorus blasted away, my normally tolerant mom yelled up to me, "Turn that thing off and go to sleep!!" Memories are made of this.

Down Came the Rain - Mr. Murray

I remember that show! Your mom had to have been laughing hysterically on the inside. This is definitely what memories are made of...who could forget such a wacky tune? (I must have been asleep when it came on).
That was the show I used to listen to during my Sunday-night drives in my dad's red VW:) It really got me hooked on "Beyond Top 40" music - Chicago blues, Jack Bruce's first solo album, Manfred Mann's Chapter 3, Screaming Lord Sutch ...
That is definitely an unforgettable tune. Never heard it before either. I was thinking how could he remember this....until the chorus kicked in. Ha.
I can only claim or blame my introduction to the "incredibly strange" with Dr. Dimento.
Mandolin Rain - Bruce Hornsby
But of course!!
Good Golly Miss Molly - Little Richard

Shucks, had a couple left...John Mellencamp/Rain On The Scarecrow

I'm hitting the basics.

Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys

A non-basic. The Good Son - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Okay let's go that way. Bob Mould, of Husker Du, pays homage to the Pixies with this one.

A Good Idea - Bob Mould

Not so not-so-obvious:
Good Morning Starshine - Oliver

Love Too Good - Starship
