I came across a thread on The View's message board where people were discussing this as if it were a real, modern-day threat. I decided not to comment at all because I thought they were all nuts. Obama and the Illuminati are trying to take over the world in a New World Order (remember that oldie but goodie?), and the thread was entitled "Are all Musicians Members of the Illuminati?"

I believe there is a group of people who make major decisions on who will live and who will die. I believe they kill anyone not in line with the direction they want things to go and make us believe the death was either by a "lone nut", terrorist or suicide. But, the only thing organized about it is GREED and quest for power over others. That seems to be the determining factor. There are many groups trying to get their slice of the pie. Meanwhile we as mere peasants watch our news media and argue among ourselves about politics. There is NO antichrist. There is NO illuminati. There are only greedy people and groups of greedy people. The ultimate aim of some is to enslave the rest of humanity. That's pretty much how its always been since Ghengis Kahn, the mongel hordes and before. And, the human race never learns. It wallows in apathy until it is too late. The apathy being maintained by "toys" bought on credit and/or the belief that God will make them happy when they are no longer on this earth.

"The Illuminati" have been part of the Above Top Secret shinola for decades. I first ran into a reference to the Illuminati in the very early 70s in college. This nothing new...just brought forward again by Dan Brown's ANGELS AND DEMONS book.

Oh no, I'm not terrified of the Illuminati, I'm terrified of the nutty people that believe that we're about to be taken over by the Illuminati, or that believe that Obama is the antichrist.

Mark, I ran into a cousin of mine with her husband in the grocery store shortly after the elections. He went on a rant about Obama being the antichrist, and he was dead serious. He was quoting scripture and all. That took the funny right out of it and gave me nightmares of the angry villagers hunting for monsters. *shudder*
