Question about another group here

Has anyone besides me noticed that members of a certain group here (We the People) have an awful lot to say about how Obama is a secret Muslim foreigner who is out to destroy America and all that, yet they have absolutely no threads* about Republican alternatives or other ideas. It seems to me they spent all their time and energy spewing about Obama and impeachment and stuff, but not one ounce of effort or any time is spent talking about alternate solutions to any problems.

Or is it just me that thinks this way about We The People?

*I may be exaggerating here, they may have a thread, I just haven't seen any.

Ok, so it's not just me thinking this way....good.

I suppose I need to try the "turn off the tv" approach, but there is just so much crap there, I feel someone has to say something.

I guess the final straw with me was when I asked someone to provide evidence (a link, something, anything) to his claim that "Obama has a secret agenda to turn America into a Socialist Third World". Really? So, I asked for details on this claim. I was then soundly thrashed for daring to ask for "proof". I was called a whining liberal. Someone questioned what is it with liberals wanting proof? Really? I'm sorry but if you are going to outright lie about the president I will demand proof. Their response? Basically, fuck you, you're a whining asshole for asking for proof.

I think that whole proof issue pretty much sums up that group.

I have to tell you that reading this story of yours, knowing what I know from what I have experienced really gave me a chuckle.

I gotta admit I let them get to me that night that whole "proof" thread played out. But, I laugh now. Can they honestly believe that proof is a bad thing? I guess so, if it refutes their outright lies.

Now that you mention it, I haven't heard the Kool-Aid thing lately myself. I always thought that was a rather offensive reference myself, given the events that led to the term 'drinking the Kool-Aid'.

Seeing their reaction upon Obama's election, I can only imagine the vile respone somone named Hussein would get in that group.

Thats interesting that they dont seem to care about 'proof' however are still asking for 'proof' that Obama was born here, thus a US Citizen....

The funny part about them saying liberals are whining when they call for proof? That same group of people demanded proof from me when I questioned a statement by someone who said Texas had solved the health care crisis. Having just read an article not 48 hours prior saying how Texas has 27 counties that have no doctor, I asked how is that solving the problem. The group asked for documentation. I provided it, and never heard another peep from any of them.

So, I guess it is okay for a conservative to ask for proof, but a liberal asks, and I'm a whining ass. I pointed out the irony of this to them, but I honestly don't think they got it.

Good point about the "proof" that Obama was born here. I hadn't even thought of that. I can already hear in my mind though how they would defend demanding proof.

My family NEVER intermeshed religion with politics and would still never consider that a wise move

My parents just celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this year. Dad is a grandson of Socialists (and predictably, a Democrat), Mom is a product of depression-era New England and a staunch Republican family. Politics has never been an issue between them. They often joke about cancelling out each others vote, but thats about it.

Interesting note (to me anyway). My mother never voted for a Democrat in over 50 years of voting, until this past November. I'll let you guess who she voted for.

I live in north Texas. I am surrounded by these kinds of morons. The few times one of them actually told me these things, I told them that they were living proof of how damned stupid this country, especially my state, has become. It is so much easier for lazy minds to jump on board whichever ultraconservative hot button issue comes along, than to inform themselves by learning all they can about those issues first. Though they seem sincere, I just cannot believe anyone can be stupid enough to need to believe this crap. Insight from the heart of the conservative beast, Texas.

I wouldnt call them morons. I believe "zealous" is a more appropritate term. Some have some good points. And, when they do, I agree with them.
