TBD on Ning

My daughter and son-in-law's first child, a boy, was born today. The subject of all the shower and name talks: Ryan Robert May arrived at 7:57 after a c-section. He is 7#3oz, 21" long, has a headful of black hair and has his eyes open and is making noises.

It is very different having a baby born to a daughter as opposed to a daughter-in-law. More investment, I guess.

LaFilleFrancaise - thank you. Yes, I enjoy it, but I agree, let's change the name.

My first grandson called me dramma - I thought that was appropriate.

This one has a nana, and my girlfriend's grandkids call her Nan. I like Mema because that is what my daughter called my mom, but an associate's grandkids call her that - so I am on the prowl for a new name.

Since I'm 1/2 Hungarian, I thought maybe the Hungarian name for Grandma - nagymamája - but I don't know how to pronounce it and doubt that Ryan would either! lol

Any suggestions? (my daughters both speak French, after a fashion, but Grand-mère is not that much different.

Congratulations! Mazel tov! And welcome to Ryan Robert!
Suuse - thank you, and strange that you should use Mazel tov! My daughter is taking lessons and plans to convert to Judaism.

All my best to the lucky Ryan Robert, being born into all this love, and to his happy family.

I hope this has lightened your stress and that you are feeling better now.
Chez moi - thank you. My bp was down quite a bit after his birth - but the only thing that will really reduce my stress is money. So I wait for my attorney to call and say "a date has been set for trial"

Congrats Sea Rain, I am convinced babies are little angels brought to transform people's lives. I hope your transformation brings you much happiness.
Maricel I am hoping for a transformation from this little guy. I am to be his nanny for 5 months, until Mom decides he can go to day care. We can do a lot of loving and transforming in five months!
