The Time Traveler's Wife - Rache McAdams and Eric Bana star in the tale of a man cursed with a genetic anomaly that causes him to skip back and forth through time.
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard - Jeremy Piven stars as an infamous, fast-talking used car salesman hired to help save a struggling dealership over the Fourth of July.
Grace - A young woman is forced to make the ultimate maternal sacrifice when her stillborn child returns to life with a horrifying appetite.
It Might Get Loud - The history of the electric guitar as seen from Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, U2's The Edge and the White Stripes' Jack White.
Ponyo - Legendary anime director Hayao Miyazaki's tale of a 5-year-old boy and a goldfish princess who longs to become human.
Spread - Ashton Kutcher stars as a fun-loving, freeloading sexual grifter who meets his match, falling for a gorgeous girl playing the same game.
Taxidermia - A surreal story about a grandfather, father and son, all linked through bizarre, fantastical motifs through history.

I'm in for District 9 tonight. Going with a few friends. I'd like to get their reaction to it. I'm really looking forward to it!

It's been a while since I've been out to the theater. And my interest has grown regarding District 9. So, I'll see you back here on the boards to let you know what I think of it.

I heard from many reviews that this film was "revolutionary" for sci-fi, and how that there had not been a sci-fi film such as this in over 10 years. But obviously these individuals have not been to a sci-fi film in over 10 years. First off, the rating for this film is off; its rated R for bloody violence and pervasive language. When human beings blow up by the dozens, "bloody violence" is thrown out the window! This is a disturbing film for those weak even an average stomach of tolerance.
If you hate humanity, you will enjoy this film. But Peter Jackson and the Director went way out of their way to show (over-the-top I might add) how horrible humans are. All we humans like are weapons...every single one of us, and we will kill, inslave, and do unspeakable things to achieve this goal.
The story is basically a worst possible case scenario if Aliens came to our planet. They dont say in what conditions they came, or what happened earlier on, just that governments want their tech.
The tecknology part is funny, b/c the movie is about slamming humans violent nature...but the aliens have such crude weapons, how are we to beleive they are any better?
The direction is slow and boring. the story is uninspiring. And all the characters are meant to make the audience feel bad.
This is a shallow political movie at best. And now is the most important question of all: WHY?

Went to see The Goods and am unhappy to report, it's no Hangover! LOL!!!
It started off good, but went downhill from there. You will laugh in most spots, but when you walk out of the theater, you'll forget the entire movie. As a matter of fact, I couldn't really tell you any specific part....

Saw District 9 Friday morning at 12:01, totally worth it. I was surprised at how I got sucked into the movie and wanted to see what would happen next. I was disappointed at how it ended though, I wanted it to go on for another hour. My friends say they set it up for a sequel, but personally, we don't want them to try and make a sequel. It's great just as it is.

I checked out "It Might Get Loud" that explores the history of the electric guitar, focusing on the careers and styles of three generations of electric guitar virtuosos; Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White.
The timing of this movie was eerie, considering the recent death of Les Paul. But it was insightful and quite the learning experience.
I recommend it to all rock fans.
