Just finished watching Notorious.
I don't buy DVD's, except for Hitchcock movies. I love so many it's hard to pick a favorite, but I have a soft spot for Rebecca. The book is in my top five. I don't often like movies made from books, but Hitchcock did an outstanding job with this one.

Do you have a favorite?

"The Birds" for sheer terror and unrelieved suspense nothing comes better or even close.
I stop short of saying I fear birds today because of that movie...Let's just say that I'm not a fan :-)
I love Rear Window! Hitchcock is so great that it is hard to choose a favorite. I also like Rebecca. He was great at most of the films he made! The Birds is great fun too!
Rear Window was a great one, how could it not be...Grace Kelly, Jimmy Stewart [sigh]
And, his urpporting cast--Rymond Burr and Thelma Ritter were excellent. And, of course, his direction. Couldn't you just feel the sadness, the lonliness of Miss Lonely Hearts?
I always thought a strong point in Hitchcock's movies was his supporting cast; every character was so well cast.
I feel a Hitchcock marathon coming on :-)
the birds still freak me out. i dont like birds.lol
Nice topic, Quinn. I like so many of his movies and Dial M for Murder is near the top. Ray Milland played such a lecherous character and just getting to look at Grace Kelly, well..... The guy who plays the British police officer. The whole unraveling of the murder case. Just great.
I get a kick out of how he put himself in a lot of his movies in one form or another. I remember where he is in Dial M for Murder. Is he in Rear Window? I don't remember seeing him in that one.
Yes, he's across the street in the bar. Remember how the apartments ended and you could see that small piece of across the street?
I also thought that was great imagery.
And, Grace Kelly (sigh). The most beautiful woman ever! She's from the same part of Philadelphia as me :-).
I liked Suspicion. It was the first time I saw Cary Grant in a non-silly role.
One of his best early British films was "The Lady Vanishes".

Of his Hollywood films I think "The Birds" takes it over "Rear Window".
