Thanks for the information. It was very enlightening. However, I doubt you will get few of those Right Wingers out there who are spreading their fear and hate to see it! They are too intent on seeing Obama fail than in seeing the USA improve in any way. So much for all their "patriotism". Sort of reminds me of their "family values" and some of their politicians with their extramarital activities often funded by taxpayers in the form of travel allowances! No wonder they are out of power and only have fear and scare tactics left!
No, if they had ever experienced being in situations of not having much of anything I doubt they would be carrying on like this. But guess we need to remember that our system of capitalism is based on greed and is why it has worked so well up to this point. The fact is we all have some greed in us. But it does seem to me that the so called "Compassionate Conservatives" seem to have a very generous share of it! Guess it fits their "Family Values" and their ownership of most all the religion in the world! Just kidding of course.
Joking aside, I am becoming extremely frightened by this all.
Sadly, scare tactics work, so I fear we will only see more of this in the future. Anyone hear of the guy who brought a gun to where Obama was speaking. He loudly proclaimed he had a right to do so (although federal laws prevent it within 1000 yards of the president). So, he went onto private property. Yammering on about nonsensical things, such as health care, gun rights, etc. I was thinking, if a "liberal" brought a gun to anywhere where Bush was speaking, do you think the right would have defended him?
Jacquin, good to see you on here again. The two things I find so sad is how many people will believe the crazy rhetoric of the Right Wingers such as "Death Panels" and the idea that Obama is just like a Hitler. The other thing I find sad is the fact that Republicans who seemed to be reasonable people in the past refuse to stand up to the people spouting this hate. If a Republican challenges Rush Limbaugh, the next day he is usually apologizing the next! That shows how much influence the fringe of that party has on them. The Right has definitely divided this nation since the beginning of the 2008 presidential election. This is beginning to remind me of our country during the 60's with the demonstrations against the VietNam War. Hopefully we are not headed there!
The 60's???? We should only be so lucky! People actively cared back then and did something about it. I would like to see some of the same demonstrations again for the current issues of our nation.
