My fellow werewolves and I feel that any publicity is good publicity.

Love the stop-motion animation!

Cover of the Day, July 15th:

"Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" (Norman Whitfield / Barrett Strong), # 24 R&B, 7/15/72, the Undisputed Truth

(That's right - the Temptations' higher-charting version was itself a cover.)

Great cover of an unstoppable tune.

The Undisputed Truth's original deserves to be remembered. The 12-minute version The Temptations recorded was such a blockbuster it kind of wiped UT's version out of the general consciousness, I guess.

Today in Musical History, July 16th:

1966: Eric Clapton accepts Ginger Baker's invitation to join Baker's new group, on the condition that Jack Bruce also be brought on board - and Cream are formed. (They briefly considered calling themselves "Sweet & Sour Rock 'n' Roll.)

(It always killed me that "blues purist" Clapton quit the Yardbirds because he disapproved of the psychedelic pop direction the band was moving towards after "For Your Love" started to hit big - So, he went off and joined a different psychedelic pop band.)

Yeah. Irony, hypocrisy, or just head-up-the-ass-itude?

Clapton has a long history of needing the help of others to extract his head from his own ass.

Cover of the Day, July 16th:

"The Hanky Panky" (Jeff Barry/Ellie Greenwich), written for the Raindrops, but never recorded by them. So, Tommy James & the Shondells did, and took it to # 1, 7/16/1966.

Today in Musical History, July 17th:

1968: The Beatles animated feature "Yellow Submarine" premiers, in London, England

"It goes black black black black and blacker."

Feels current.

How long before ICE start using ALL of the military equipment ?

Drumph wants his own gestapo / paramilitary force, to terrorize those who might defy or disobey - and he's not going to stop at immigrants.
