TBD on Ning

I'm moving this topic into its own discussion thread. I'm still hoping for more suggestions on what to brew.

Brewed my RyePA Wednesday. I must have had a great starch to sugar conversion because every bee in the neighborhood came by to check it out and the airlock on my fermenter has been just about blowing up for two days now. It will stay in fermenter for two weeks and then in bootles for at least another week before sampling.

Sounds good, I still have 40 acres of rye to plant.  Finished planting wheat today.

Bottled yesterday. Two full cases of 12 oz. bottles. Now starts the aging.

I just got thirsty.

The fruit of my labor.

Making me thirsty.

Although this batch is still young and can do to age more, this recipe has already proven to be a keeper. Besides a distinctive flavor and excellent hops profile, it has a better head retention and mouth-feel than I usually achieve.

Well I tried a wheat beer recipe, and it was a flop. I couldn't really get the ingredients for the Dewberry flavored Shiner clone, so I just went with a standard American wheat recipe with a cherry flavoring because I just don't like blackberrys anyway. It didn't convert well so it was very weak and then a fitting on my keg leaked and I lost 2 gallons while it was cold conditioning when we went to California for two weeks. Not sure if the rest is worth saving anyway. Better luck next time.

Good one

He grabbed me by my slender neck
I couldn't yell or scream.
He took me to his dingy room
Where we could not be seen.
He stripped me of my flimsy wrap,
And gazed upon my form.
I was wet and cold and damp,
And he was nice and warm.
His feverish lips he pressed to mine,
I gave him every drop.
He drained me of my very self,
And I couldn't make him stop.
He made me what I am today,
That's why you find me here...
A broken bottle, tossed away,
That once was full of beer.

I'll add that one to my collection of alcohol humor.
