Without getting too political please, how do you see the country in say, 30 - 40  years from now?

I predict that everyone's predictions will be significantly wrong because it is not possible to anticipate certain developments that occasionally arise; events that have large effects on the course of history. The term Black Swan is sometimes used for these events.

"A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight."

Extrapolating the current volatility of our world-wide culture, I suspect Black swan events to become more common.

If I dare to make a prediction  I am most  concerned with  a possible sudden collapse of our economy from the practice of deficit spending but I have no idea how that would  'spin out'.

The USA will become third world country from massive spending and lack of production.

Hope I'm wrong but afraid not.

I'll be dead by then and I rejoice in that fact. Most likely it will be some kind of a dictatorship under one kind of lunatic or another.

messed up

I shudder to think! A friend of mine has pointed out the many shows and movies depicting a dystopian world. Both of us have noticed that science fact becomes science fiction. I just hope the world is reasonably livable for my son and grandchildren.

Continued excessive population growth accelerating environment degradation and climate collapse. Sadly, affecting all life, not just human.
