What do you do with people who are family or friends who call and talk incessantly?  Do you try to duck their calls?

I lie and say I have to go somewhere and there is one person that calls; hardly says anything and there's a long awkward silence. I can't stand that. Like, if you don't have anything to say, why'd you call? So yeah, I duck those calls now.

I always take the calls but find an excuse to hang up when I need to.

I love speaking on the phone. When I speak with my ex we usually talk for about an hour. Talking with my daughter is about a half hour. I speak with my best friend, still in N.Y.,for about an hour. All these are about once a month. Anyone else takes 15-20 minutes.

I don't mind talking for an hour or so if the other person is truly having a conversation with me.

I don't like talking on the phone but I will talk to a few people. There was one old gentleman that I knew from work who would call and ramble on and on. Sometimes I would just let him talk to  the machine. But I would feel guilty because he is old. I did the same as other people and made up excuses about having to hang up when he called.

Doesn't really happen to me but my husband's sister can do that, and she doesn't listen so my husband will put the phone down, take a bathroom break come back and she is still rambling on, none the wiser.
