I no longer have any grandkids in school so I'm not up to date on what's going on in the system  I would think that being able to have virtual classes is a plus at this time.

I think kids who are doing remote learning will miss classroom discussion with classmates. I think a plus would be that kids could learn at their own pace and that parents would be more involved.

Being able to stay home during the pandemic turned out to be a blessing for my youngest grandson (15) who was suffering terribly with fibromyalgia. He had been hospitalized a couple of times with full evaluations being done. He was in such pain, he could not concentrate to do his work.

Besides passing children that don't deserve it, one of the bad things is that our children are not being adequately prepared for the global job market. Conversational languages should be mandatory earlier than high school. I know some schools have added languages to their grade school curricula, maybe most by now. I believe my granddaughter studied Turkish in grade school but she went to a charter school.

I also don't think our young people are being adequately prepared in the basics of finance. By high school graduation, they should know how to balance checkbooks, the basics of investing and how to start building up retirement savings and FICO scores. I read that credit card companies really lure college students in by offering cards and credit lines that these young people don't know how to handle.
