TBD

TBD on Ning

I'm watching very carefully that no frost gets my house plants out on the front porch.  I'm getting jittery about them.  This is the third fall I've been here and I'm still amazed at home long the flowers keep on growing, even if they are getting leggy.  How many of you that have outdoor flowers still have them blooming?  My one plant, a Salvia, is just about done.

I didn't get a chance this year to plant anything . I hope next year I can . good luck with yours

One hanging basket of petunias is still blooming and some marigolds by the back door (deer missed them), but it all ends tonight when it will go to 25 degrees. Supposed to snow a bit over the weekend. Will check the beans one last time and pick anything that's big enough.

Potted petunias still hanging on, although " leggy" doesn't begin to describe it. Potted aster from last year just bloomed.

My actual flowers that are planted either in the ground, the fountain and planters are beginning to look sad.  We are bringing in the house plants this afternoon.  It's going down to low 40's tonight and tomorrow night.  Oct 15 I think is pushing it, especially my gardenia and the Bougainville.   Holly before I moved here I didn't have a garden from 2014 to 2018, so I'm very happy having them.

We only have two we are really concerned about.....the Moonflower plants.....and the Kafir Lime tree..(Mah-Grut in Thai). They all belong to my dil, and she will be broken-hearted if we don't bring them in soon. Only going to be in the upper 50s today, but will be around 70 the rest of the week.

I dumped the petunias on Wed. and think the beans are done...will take one last look today and maybe pull them out, since some snow may be starting tonight and will have a mix through the weekend. I don't know what happened to Fall. I feel like Rip van Winkle...last Friday I was siting on my friend's deck  in 70 degrees and sunshine smoking salmon and now I'm scraping ice off of my windshield, but it is Montana.

All my plants are in the house and the poor porch looks so lonely.  Marrigolds in planters are still going strong along with my begonias in the fountain.   However we have a frost alert for overnight.  We'll see what's going on in the morning.  May hit 32 degrees.  I must say I do love the southern weather.  My biggest hobby is plants and flowers and we have something blossomming from April and the blue asters we have are blossoming.
