I have seen them start as early as September and definitely by Halloween.
I love them and think they're gorgeous it's just by Christmas I'll be sick of looking at them. Ours go up day after thanksgiving.
I haven't been in any stores except for the groceries and the hardware store, so don't know. It does seem to get a jump start earlier ever year, though.
Stores here have dedicated large shelf areas to Christmas for weeks now. We went looking for some Haloween decorations and ended up having to dig through half-price clearance bins because they had been displaced by Christmas already. I am not a fan of anything Christmas before Thanksgiving.
They get so much earlier every year with selling the Christmas stuff that they're going to lap themselves one of these years.
I think that ,because of Covid, many businesses are closing or hurting badly. Anything that they can sell, at any time, to keep them afloat, is good.
I couldn't believe it when my friend in Cali told me she went to Hobby Lobby (I think it was) or it may have been a home store and they had Christmas trees up. This was in August! I haven't been yet. I'll see if Walmart has started when we go tomorrow.
Trust me, they have.
We haven't gone out enough to know. My husband and daughter when to Lowes for window shades but they didn't say there were decorations up. Maybe they missed it.
Seems like they went right past Halloween and Thanksgiving.
