Toppings, no; butterscotch syrup, maybe, depends on type of ice cream. Yes for a side of cake mixed in.
I like walnuts and whipped cream on top depending on what flavor I have. I love vanilla ice cream on top of chocolate cake.
I don't think there's any way of eating ice cream I don't like, but I've been on a kick here lately of vanilla ice cream with some unsweetened dark cocoa powder and about 1/8 teaspoon of almond extract sprinkled on top.
I may have to try that.
My favorites are vanilla ice cream with cherries on top, whipped cream if available or the same on top of warm cherry pie.
Love all kinds of Ice Cream but don't eat it much, maybe once a year. Coffee is a favorite with coffee syrup whipped cream on it. Live vanilla ice cream on pie or cake.
If it's vanilla, I'd like hot fudge but I never buy vanilla. My fave is Kroger's premium Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle...straight up.
Funny you should ask. I managed to keep 2 almost pints of Haagen Daz in my freezer for more than two weeks. I had some on top of lemon pie yesterday and today. Those personal size lemon pies were also in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I usually prefer my ice cream plain but for some reason I had a taste for it on top of the pie yesterday and today.
Remembering back to childhood, we'd have tin roof sundaes...vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and peanuts on top.
I usually eat it alone. My preference is vanilla fudge.
