I did and I was allowed to go there by myself as a small child--so were other kids. I didn't like it and avoided it--something felt wrong. Turned out to be a pedophile running it--classic "have a piece of candy, little girl," stuff.

Oh, dear. I'm sorry to hear about that unpleasant experience. My store folks were nice normal folk. 

Never had a stand like that nearby. I looked forward to getting my dog or burger at the beach on the weekends

I don't remember, to be honest. I think I preferred hamburgers. What I do remember are the meatball sandwiches (on a hotdog bun) at the Corner Dog Store in Newport, RI. Those were my favorite as a very little kid.
