(That sounds like hard work!)

Oddly, most of my life Mommy wore muumuus around the house and dresses when she went out. (We lived in Hawaii in the late 50s and early 60s and she fell in love with the comfort, colors, and lore.) She only began to wear slacks after she was about 70 and wheelchair-bound.

Your mom ironed your sheets.

Nope, but a grandma ironed everything, even underwear and pajamas. She ironed the seersucket texture right out of our kid's pajamas.

(Husband's auntie loved muumuus. They were stationed in Hawaaii, in the navy in the 50's).

You never ironed sheets, but appreciated such sheets when you encountered them elsewhere.

Hahaha! Now THAT was one ironing Grandma!

(My dad was a Captain in the Navy when we lived in Hawaii. Wonder if they knew each other?! Small world!)

Nope. I ironed sheets. Well, sometimes. ツ Nothing like sliding into freshly ironed cotton sheets.

In New England, you had flannel sheets in the winter. (I seem to be sheet-obsessed hahaha!)

(Yeah, wouldn't that be funny if they knew each other. The uncle commanded the Truckee,  and before that, served on the Blue Gill, if thst rings a bell)

Yes, to flannel sheets.

You also developed a fondness for muumuus, or loose , long dresses, at least.

(Cool! I know the Truckee was an oiler and the Bluegill was a submarine. My dad was in command of a Flotilla of destroyers, if I remember correctly, so he might have known your uncle when he commanded the Truckee. My dad's brother was a submariner (a Commander at that time, I believe, so he might have known your uncle on the Bluegill! Can't be sure though.)

I did wear, and was fond of, muumuus! In fact, I didn't wear jeans/slacks until I was 12 or 13.

I may have asked you this before--you have tried poi at least once.

No poi for me, I'm afraid.  Sigh

You were rather fond of poi, first time

I was! How did you know?! Most haoles (non-Hawaiians) hated it. I don't know why, but I'm mystically drawn to Hawaii even though I'm a lover of cold weather and evergreen forests. Since I lived there as a kid, it's always felt like home. I've never been back, and never will now. Sad.

In your dreams, you'd live by the ocean with good (but distant) neighbors and lots of fruit trees and animals around.

Yes! In my dreams

Among the places you wish to had visited when you had the chance were Australia and the African plains

I actually have visited Australia, but didn't get to see much. African plains--yes!

You have flown first class at least once.

Just once, MIL's treat. Across the Atlantic to join my John in Germany, where he was stationed. She was on her way to England, so with me part way

You once carted all your worldly good across the county in a Uhaul, or some such truck.

More than once. ツ

You don't drink sodas often.

That is true. I sometimes like the taste of tonic water

You are fond of scones with fruit inside
