OMG, TRUE!!!!   When I began my "career"--and I put that in quotes because it was all by chance--I was a proofreader. Best around. Now I can barely remember how to spell "occasion"--have to keep looking up words like that. Horrifying.

In that same vein, you notice that you miss spelling and grammar mistakes you've made with some frequency.
