"RABBIT RABBIT RABBIT"
SIS BOOM BAH! Almost The Fourth!!!!!

I'm enjoying a seductively funny, sharp novel by Emma Straub, MODERN LOVERS. The cover well describes this as a satisfying book about neighbors and nosiness, ambition and pleasure, the excitement of youth, the shock of middle age, and the fact that our passions--be they food, or friendship, or music--never go away, they just evolve and grow along with us. Good read!!!!

What do you have going?

TY Ursula...  if the problem becomes too severe, there are meds available to help... Boo lived another 1 1/2 years after starting them but there are side effects so it's not ideal.  I hope Sweeney does fine without them.

I visited FACEBOOK today and noticed some condolence posts to RAPA on the passing of her husband. If anyone has direct contact with her perhaps more can be revealed. I will be watching for any comments.

She has been such a force in his loving care.

I posted sympathies on FB from all of us here...  her 'bookie' friends...

Thank you for that, Carci.

Rapa so sorry to learn about your husband.  I know this has been a trying ordeal and all of us have to face the deaths in our families.  It never can be easy and while the caretaking is done you must feel so lost at times.  So very sorry for your loss and hope you can find some happiness in your reading to help you.  Prayers of love for you.

CARCI...yes, I went to her Page as well. At first I saw a post from a Grandchild with such sympathy and wasn't certain of the family connection; if it was RAPA'S husband or some other family member as she hasn't indicated that her husband was in eminent danger....or maybe I missed it?
Thank you for your thoughts and caring. Yes, Bob passed away yesterday late afternoon. Our son made it in time to hold his father's hands a couple hours with me as he took his last breath. We are thankful that he's now at peace. Our hospice nurses were fantastic support during this long journey. Visitation is set for Sat. 4-6 and placement of ashes at DFW National Cemetery Monday morning. After some rest, will be able to get back to reading. Obit will be in the Friday Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

God bless you.  Rest and heal and get back to us as soon as you can.  We will miss your insight and wonderful sense of humor.

Love, Lyn

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Rapa.  I know this must have been exceedingly difficult for you, but as you say, he's now at peace.  He's had such a difficult couple of years.

Bless you.

With love and hugs,

Joanne

My sympathies for your loss.

So sad to learn about your loss, it is never easy even when we expect it

Wish you a quite and peaceful time while you're facing those difficult times

Just finished reading an excellent debut novel titled Lilac Girls, which deals with 3 women (an American, a German and a Polish woman) during World War II.  There connection is Ravensbruck, the concentration camp where there were only female prisoners and where medical experiments were performed.  Good character development  and not too much violence and gore.  Also the book is based on real people, so it sheds some positive light on a difficult period of history.  The author is Martha Hall Kelly.  Hope to see more books from her in the years ahead.
