TBD on Ning

Mercy, tried to post at midnight but was told I was not a member! Had to rejoin!!!
Anyway, Yikes, it’s December already! So much to do and so little time to curl up with a book.

Today I picked up Kate Morton’s THE LAKE HOUSE, Robert Crais’s THE PROMISE and Allen Eskens’s THE LIFE WE BURY.

Still doctoring upper respiratory viruses here so may have to do some skimming. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed David Baldacci’s THE GUILTY.

Anything good on your plate?

Winding down 2015 and I have nothing major of import to share with my experimenting regarding new Mystery Authors. Have a Faye Kellerman latest waiting for me at Library. Goofed around with some other time wasters. Some Political Pundits, some Health and Science Non-Fiction tombs.

I remember in the old days at EONS...about this time of year we would post our Favorites and our Losers. Lots of laughs and a few tears for sure.

Well, we are still hanging together....and that is the main thing for me. WINTER is on the way to NE OHIO...some terrible storms in certain areas of the country...stay safe Bookies!

I remember those "best" and "worst" lists!

We got some winter here tonight too; hopefuly I will be able to make a trip to Ohio next month!

The Short Drop, by Matthew Fitzsimmons turned out to be a good read, at least it kept me interested, although the conclusion was sort of obvious:

A decade ago, fourteen-year-old Suzanne Lombard, the daughter of Benjamin Lombard—then a senator, now a powerful vice president running for the presidency—disappeared in the most sensational missing-person case in the nation’s history. Still unsolved, the mystery remains a national obsession.

For legendary hacker and marine Gibson Vaughn, the case is personal—Suzanne Lombard had been like a sister to him. On the tenth anniversary of her disappearance, the former head of Benjamin Lombard’s security asks for Gibson’s help in a covert investigation of the case, with new evidence in hand.

It's a Kindle book (5.99).

Christmas was good, always enjoy seeing the granddaughters open gifts. (Only two close by) Time sure flies, the older grandkids are becoming teenagers. I got wool socks and a wool sweater.(Didn't need them this December..Warmest on record here.)

I just finished THE SHORT DROP too. Liked it a lot. The ending was pretty obvious, but I cared about the characters enough that I wanted it to end the way it did. Got mine free via first books with Amazon prime. Now reading A DEATH IN SWEDEN for free the same way. A quick fast moving adventure.

I did the same thing but am reading Death in Sweden now and have Short Drop up next.  Glad to see good reviews. Lots of books up to be read this winter - weather here in 30's today - has been warmer.  Love to be missing the snow and ice and hope it continues all winter.  Stay warm and healthy everyone and Happy New Year.
