What's the very first hint that you just drove into a wealthy neighborhood?  Poor neighborhood?

Rich:  it's a gated community with an electrified fence (and maybe a guardhouse too).

Poor: lotsa cars up on blocks in ea. yard, not just 1 or 2.

You can't see the houses from the road, in a rich neighborhood.   The poor neighborhoods in St. Paul are usually filled with boarded up homes and vacant lots.
