...The Ranch's answer to you -know - what - with no rules.

Go ahead...tell us what you're having for dinner - we can't wait! Got a cute pic of kitty peeking out of a paper bag? Post it! We live for that stuff!

Math addict? How about a refresher on the Pythagorean Theorem?

Like macaroni and cheese? Tell us why!

So even if you're not a writer or a poet (yet), there's still plenty of fun things to do at the Armadillo!

Oh baby, oh baby!

I made it up. No such group as the Skunk Holler Rounders. Far as I know. Hubby used to listen to The Holy Modal Rounders. Back in the day. Think they used to favor footless sock blues pain. We actually lived in a spot known as Skunk Hollow in the wooded part of western PA. There were skunks, and it was a holler. People hollered at night when their path was crossed by skunks. Like to cause your foots to leave your socks. Left ya blue. And pained, sometimes.

Fourteen degrees and snowing.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

:-)

Just the way you like it!

That's the way...uh huh..uh huh...!!!

Those poor folks in New Yawk and Joisey don't know what they're missing...heh, heh, heh...

We had a high yesterday of -1.  Add in the wind-chills and it was downright brisk.

"Refreshing and bracing" -- that was your weather, Carol! As for me, um, er, I just got back from Nevada and CA -- 70's and 80's with not drop one of rain for 2 glorious weeks. But my heart belongs to Joisey -- not!

A high of only 66° today, and partially cloudy in the morning. What a disappointment.

I didn't know you were out here, Marilyn. What did you do?

Hey, Wes'! Well, we started out in Vegas, baby (only to meet Stan's son, who lives there) and then headed to Santa Monica to see both Getty museums. DON'T stay at the Hotel California there, a combo of funky furnishings and really bad service! After 2 days there, we headed up 101 to San Luis Obispo, then up Rt 1 to Monterrey (thru Big Sur and all those twists and turns!). From Monterrey, we drove to SF, dumped the car and spent 4 nights there. GORgeous weather the whole time, 70's-80's, blue skies and no rain. One highlight was a helicopter ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for a champagne lunch. (OK, plastic glasses and a shrink-wrapped turkey sandwich, but still a thrill.)

And there you have it. Marilyn's and Stan's Excellent Vacation. And now -- back to reality in the Arctic! Brrrr-rrrrrr.

I'd clink my plastic glass in a toast to such a sandwich in such an amazing setting. Sounds lovely. Hope you got pictures.

Yep, many pix and WOW!

I am so envious, but glad you had a good time.  You deserve it after all you've been through lately.

Thank you! You also deserve some good times -- sounds as if your ordeal was far worse than mine.
