Are you really mentally prepared to accept your eventuality?

I know I'm not, really. Mostly because it seems surreal and it was only yesterday that I was 17,30, 40   etc etc  lol. Shucks that was a futile exercise in reflection if ever I thought of it...  still, I smile :) and am grateful and glad.

I long for it some days; being old sucks.  The "golden years", ha!

The hard part for me is that so many depend on me.

I'll stay as long as, got a great wife and now a new dog to take care of.  But I'm more then ready to go if I have too.

I'm ready. I nearly died 3 times 10 years ago fighting rectal cancer and a strangulated hernia at the same time. The way I look at it I'm living on borrowed time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to beat this bladder cancer too, but ya never know. If I get hit with a bus tomorrow, I have no complaints, cause I've had a better life than I ever expected.

I'm not real crazy about leaving soon, got things I want to do. I guess I'm prepared if it happens by accident.

I'm with you Lifesighs, I've got a ton of things I want to do, and I hope that I have enough time to accomplish a good portion of that list. I refuse to call it a bucket list, but there are still things I would like to do.

Why is yours not a bucket list?

Because then it is a list of things to do before I die. I've got things I would like to do, learn to scuba dive, have another motorcycle, take the grandson to Colorado where I grew up, etc., but none of this stuff is MUST do before I croak, more of a wish list than anything else.
