I have a story about Buicks and my grandparent's love for them. In the early 60's my grandfather wanted a new Buick. He needed to sell something to raise the money since they  NEVER charged anything He the choice between 20 acres of land north of Lancaster California.(Undeveloped desert) or an undeveloped lot on the beach in Sunset Beach California. He sold the Sunset Beach lot for $34,000 to buy his Buick plus they bough a rental house in Garden Grove Calif. They later sold the house. My grandfather passed away in the mid 60's and my grandmother passed away in 1980. My father, their only son died tragically in 1949 when I was six months old. I was their only grandchild and inherited their home and the 20 acres of desert. I sold it a few years ago for $20,000. The Sunset Beach lot at that time was worth over $2,000,000! I HATE BUICKS!!!!

so much for my next comment,

wouldn't you really rather have a Buick ?

Hell no! LOL

I'm sorry, Johnnie, but I laughed too.  What a great/awful story!  Wish I lived in SoCal on the beach.

sorry bro, sometimes life kicks ya in the pants..in the front.

Me too! I'd be there available to apply your sunscreen, California Now. Timbo, it still hurts.

That would burn your butt all right. Sorry it happened to you Johnnieboy.

weeners

Oleo - seriously, Olay has a new hair care product called Oleo.  Do you really want margarine in your hair?

And I don't want to indulge in something that ends in "-algia."  Nostalgia, for instance, does cause pain often.

and also neuralgia

Yeah, I just saw the Olay ad again and it said "Olia", so. . .my bad.

But it sounds so much like oleo doesn't it?  Great story Johnnieboy.
