Most of us probably don't really think about our language, or more specifically, some of the words we use. Much of what we say is based on what we hear, and if you have been in more places than say, a cloistered, religious center, you probably have heard a lot. A lot of words that probably are expressive but shouldn't really be said, even if you know your audience.

But then again why should it matter, we value and exercise free speech in this country, it is a legal foundation of our democracy. Well, the reason care should be taken, is, what one says reflects on the speaker, and if you are the speaker, that means, you.

Do most of us regret some of the things we say? Sure, everyday. Some of what we say is hurtfully, inappropriate, if you really hear what others are hearing. Some just expressions don't need to be expressed, particularly if the listener is young and looking for examples for their speech and behavior. Of course, even if you are careful about what you say, the words you use and the expressions involved, we still are as a culture and society awash in words and expressions that don't represent the best in us, or that of others, some of them well paid for what they say and their expressions.

Certainly, we need words that get attention, express our emotions and intent, but that is not necessarily a good thing. In the sixties, there was an expression that might have lead to some of what we hear now, “let it all hang out”. Interesting idea but not necessarily a way to live and express oneself. We had then, then in the sixties, new ways to express ideas and concepts, walls were breaking down, inhibition was old, old fashion, and definitely, “square”, which up to then was not such a bad thing to be.

And as most of us, and as most of the world has found out, someone is listen, listening and seeing just about everything, which means letting it all hang out' is not only recorded but in someone's data base.

So, one would think a trained, professional, a senior American diplomat, would be keenly aware of their words and circumstances. But, apparently not, if the most recent revelation about a private, important conversation has been correctly recorded and revealed.

And yes, what were they thinking, or, what was she thinking. Probably, she was thinking that she was really, really involved in summing up the crisis of what the developments meant to her superior about the Ukraine crisis, and what it meant to those diplomats that were directly dealing with the situation. And what was said was, I don't doubt, the truth. However, that truth might be only seen in the context of what was revealed to the public, and unfortunately, the content speaks for itself.

The European Union is still of a work in progress rather than a real thing we can call a government. I mean, the Romans started it over 2000 years ago, and they couldn't finish the deal, though they did leave some interesting ruins and a language. And, oh, there it is again, the issue of language.

So, is summing up one's personal opinion on the EU and its dealings with the crisis in Ukraine of value? Sure, but then again, potty mouth needs its soap...or is that too subjective and not diplomatic in these times of free, if not freer expression. Inquiring minds want to know, sorta.

I think "fu** the EU" sums it up very well  ...  the United Nations should play the pivotal role.

As to the UN, it major role is to spend money, a lot of ours, doing stuff liking paying and overpaying staff, but then again, it is only money.  And no, it isn't the UN's fault, the UN is a idea that has become an ideal with some benefits, mostly to the greedy and corrupt.  And no, I don't say it does some good, it does, but it is only one, and not the best one to provide help and support in times, at times when it is allowed to do its work.

So, symbolic though it is and as dysfunctional as some of activities are, we are better off for having it, and it certainly helps the City of New York attract the monies it needs to support the city...just saying.

And as to the black helicopters, haven't seen them lately, and maybe that is the point....

As to the EU, see the above....just change the city to Brussels...and no, I don't know about the color of the helicopters though...

It's not the UN, the Greedy and Corrupt Republican Party and its Corrupt (persons) Corporations  are Americas Dysfunctional Black Helicopter Never Ending Story (Conspiracy)

All of the above words to say what my mother said in just three: "Watch your language."

Actually, lo, you made the point I really intended, the words used reflect on the user not the listener or reader...including group discussions....just saying...

Do I have to supply links to prove what I say is true, lol ....

Just one each:

Greedy and Corrupt Republican Party and its Corrupt (persons) Corporations -- take food stamps and unemployment benefits from the poor and won't tax corporations.

Americas Dysfunctional Black Helicopter Never Ending Story (Conspiracy) -- Obama's not a US Citizen but he is a Muslim and Obama lied about Benghazi. and healthcare'll kill'ya.

Do you have any more words of wisdom for us Ex ...

Sure, you only have to ask..politely...

I can do that LOL ....
