We had been living together for a while, but the subject of marriage hadn't came up yet. I took her backpacking in the Rockies, but the weather was miserable. Rained so much we couldn't even keep the sleeping bags dry. After 3 days of eating mostly dehydrated food, she said...Get me off this mountain!!! Went back to the motel, had a hot shower, and I took her out to an upscale restaurant. I ordered something oriental, and so I got a fortune cookie that read...You are doomed to be happy in marriage. We were married about six months later, and celebrated our 33rd anniversary last month.
