TBD

TBD on Ning

I was a member of Bookoholics on Eons and I'm glad to find the group alive and well on TBD.

The first thing I did after being approved was to come here to join the group.

I'm just getting started but I wonder what other Eons members are out there.

Welcome Katherine K from the long lost land of Eons. I almost forgot about it.

Many of our members date back to that era although some have new names on TBD (I used to be raouf).

Barbara (our fearless leader) is not as active as she used to but we manage to keep it going.

How did you find out about this group?

I found datsunivr on Not Over The Hill and she told be about TBD and Bookoholics being here. I don't know what name Gloria uses here unless it's datsunivr. I'm glad to here that Barb is still around. I'm sorry to hear that she is not around that much.

Do you have monthly books to read ? I see you still have the end of the year best book and worst book.

datsunlvr is in the house so is Rapa, Carci, ursula, slopok, lorouch, officerripley, and many others.

Most of our members are former Eons.

There is a thread on the best and worst of 2013 feel free to contribute.

Welcome. I was on Eons as Countryphyl, I think. We have not been too active lately but hopefully, it will pick up.

Welcome aboard.  I believe I joined Bookoholics in 2006 or so when I was on EONS a couple of screen names ago.  I inherited another book group there that I ran for a while, but I found this group with the refugees from EONS a couple of  years ago.

I will inform of my latest read, "The Husband's Secret."  http://www.amazon.com/The-Husbands-Secret-Liane-Moriarty/dp/0399159347  I takes place in Australia, between Sydney and Melbourne, where a middle age housewife finds out her husband has left a letter to be opened upon his death for her to read.  After agreement with her spouse not to open it, she peeks and all hell breaks loose. It was named one of the top reads of the year and has the Australian culture as a  backdrop. I spent a month in Australia and love most of the stories that come from there.

I try to inform the group of the good reads I run across and leave the turkeys to die a quite death on the shelf.

Welcome back to the group  I don't have time to comment often lately, but I always read the posts.

There's a fair number of us that float thru!

Welcome Katherine, I was on Eons before too.  I enjoy this group very much as it has given me a great list of books to read and I do not often post - guess I do not have much interesting to say LOL.  Hope you share some of your faves too.

I’m glad you “rediscovered” Bookoholics, Kathryn K.  It is a great group! Speaking of EONS, I have noticed that a site called BOOMEONS has been created, with some former EONS members joining it.  I don’t know if anyone else here has noticed it, but I must say it is not very user friendly at all and doesn’t have much activity going on.  Certainly no Bookoholics.

I checked it out and it seems to be trying to pick up membership.  Lots of adds on the screen.  http://www.boomeon.com/about_us

Welcome, Kathryn K!  I was midwife228 on Eons.  This group has given me so many idea for good books to read and I enjoy the conversations.  Pull up a chair, grab a good book and make yourself at home!

I know you have not seen many entries from me here but I come in with regularity. I get announcements on my e-mail of who's posting what. I love that that people are keeping this group going. My gratitude.
