they said the snow is sposta start about 2 pm,it sure is c-c-cold outside.

I am not in the NE, but we have about 8" of snow so far, with about a day and a half of snow yet to come. Earlier, we were listening to a Chicago-based radio station broadcasting a news conference for at least 20 minutes about emergency snow procedures in Chicago. I guess they are getting a few extra inches of "Lake-Effect" snow over the next 24 hours. My son-in-law has shoveled three times since yesterday. It's a whole 15 degrees out there today. Luckily, it's my daughter's day off, and we don't have to go anywhere. The roads were really icy last night when we brought her home.

Going to get to about 5 degrees in the next few days at night, been spittin' snow here today. Not much accumulation though.

What was supposed to start as rain this evening, started as snow this afternoon. I guess that 2-4 inches will be 4-6 at least. Time will tell in the morning. Getting very cold here too.

We have about 6 inches of snow and it's horribly cold. Little dog wouldn't go out, when we kind of forced him, he peed on the side of the house and ran right back in. Too funny.

the snow stopped,the sun is out,but baby,it's c-c-cold outside.I got the driveway and walkways shoveled,I had Gomer and Goober dig out the shop.It's like 8 degrees out there.

If we're real lucky, we might make double digits today. It's struggled to reach 9 degrees at the moment. We are leaving our water running at night so as not to have the pipes freeze. We spent all day in yesterday; it was a good day for movies and card games. My daughter goes back to work today, poor baby. It's a good thing the car is starting up well. She'll be coming home around midnite, and it will be warming by that time; they say a front is coming through, bringing milder temps and maybe wet snow. Yay! Just so it doesn't snow so bad they can't get me to the train next Thursday.

I can't imagine being outside for an hour and a half in this weather. My son's girlfriend kept coming in to warm up while she was digging out her car. It was caked in ice.

Helen, my son told me it dropped to 8 deg, and then the wind picked up and gusted to 50mph! Did it get that bad where you are?

Karin, it was 5 degrees here this morning. We didn't have any wind today. We did Thursday night and early Friday morning. Not 50 mph though.
