i had to spend two hours in an office this morning where they had fox news streaming on their wall tvs. fox news explains people like cod. for two hours, it was a harangue on obama and obamacare, iran and the nuclear agreement, all negative about anything from 'that side' of the political spectrum and interspersed with ads to buy gold, silver and other surefire ways to make money. if they advertised suicide, there'd surely be a population drop..oh and interesting that there was not a female in sight on fox who was old enough to have a wrinkle on her face or an actual original thought in her head

Apparently, not your definition of entertainment, pa. Hopefully it wasn't a doctor's office.
Some would have probably the same reaction to MSNBC as to what is worth and worthless. And not saying many might have a similar reaction to CNN or the Wolf Blitzer TV network, considering how often he is on the air when there is "Breaking" coverage and yes, he has wrinkles.
As I was watching Chris Hays on his All In with Chris Hayes yesterday, who also covering iran and ObamaCare, he had an Apple computer predominately sitting on his desk, so much for the Microsoft part of MSNBC, I guess....
I don't think so.
I haven't caught MSNBC distorting the truth and then getting caught on almost a daily basis.
One thing I, in my dotage, have noticed on Fox News is that the babes they have on the newscasts always seem to show a lot of leg. Their needs to be one reason to watch that network, doesn't it?
A recent poll claimed 52% of Fox Viewers only watch Fox for "crotch shots". Them beauties are going to have bad circulation from trying to keep their "lot of leg(s)" together.
My sis and bil have Fox on most of the time. Whenever I drop in I sit to the side where I really can't see it, but I can still hear it (dammit). I hear so much ignorance coming from it that a rage begins building in my mind and I have to leave. And no matter what time of day it is, or which program, it is the same bs, still presenting things that have long been debunked, as "news".
the point is that fox concentrates on blood, gore, guts, failure and fear. there is not an examination of a story in the 5w's of journalism but rather a woe is me chorus of all the things that can go wrong and will go wrong pronounced by a bunch of talking head loons who, if you examine their credentials, are usually some degree of failure and marginal acquaintance with the subject but certainly no real solid experts...example...rafael cruz claims that atheism causes pedophilia....the insistance that iran can't be trusted so why do agreements with them...(shades of 1914? ramp up those drums, show off the shiny uniforms and medals and get the blood flowing)....and fox's own head has said "we're in the entertainment business, not the news business"
give me the facts on news stories, some thoughtful smart people examining the situations and i can string the narrative together...i don't need to be herded into turning my hall closet into an arsenal to keep the niggers out, or to write my congressman (if he can read) to nuke iran cause them raghead motherfuckers ain't never gonna larn and they don't believe in jesus anyway
I suppose then it is CSPAN or what is left of the press, more or less.
News is not a commodity, it has to be search and found, reported, produced and distributed and that is not an inexpensive process.
With the print media dying and with it , the business model, cable and network news has to have immediate value to sell advertising which is that media's business model. If the image doesn't catch the eyeball, it doesn't work, so if it bleeds it leads, and if it is legs that make the business, there will be legs and if that doesn't work then, it is a bust, more or less.
i guess eventually murdoch will find this and have stress with deciding if he can go this way and still have all his appeal to the basic bedrock 'moral majority'. maybe his head will explode with the conflict. i was in another office again with the same fox news going and the other side of the flowing hair news bimbo is the fact that most of the males on fox could use a little gym time and some liposuction to compete as eye candy with the women. kind of delineates the mentality doesn't it?
Fact is that Fox viewership is higher than MSNBC, CNN, and NBC combined. There must be a reason that the majority of people get their news from Fox. Now PA can try and dismiss Fox, but that's what the liberal minority do. Great thing about television is you can choose to watch or not watch. If you don't like Fox, don't watch Fox. Keep watching people like Rachel Maddow, and Bashir and then tell the majority that they are wrong. Way to go PA. I hope you and the other hundreds of people keep supporting MSNBC.
"we aren't in the news business. we're in the entertainment business"
Roger Ailes
but then simple minds fall for simplistic explanations and yellow journalism
You should ask yourself PS, what is it in your character, or lack of, that makes you always be so bitter? Fox contains commentators and has some news programs. It is far from yellow journalism except in the mind of a PA
oh i'm not bitter, cod..i just find stupidity and simplistic horseshit rather foolish...which is why you are so endearing to liberals everywhere....if you can't be a good rolemodel, at least you serve as a bad example of conservatism. you buy into all the latest talking points from the hatchery. and you ALWAYS avoid real discussions because you run out of facts after you exhaust the forwarded emails from looneyville
