The ACA is flawed; it was passed flawed, it was implemented flawed and the fixes are and will be flawed.  As to impact on the presidency, also flawed, in dealing with the whole process which incorporates everything that has happened up to now, and what will happen in the future.  And yes, there is an opportunity to salvage the law and the politics involved, but then again, sometimes being lucky trumps being good, which can work both ways.

Regardless,  ACA health care financing and delivery schemes have to be dealt with, and reformed, as the country can not go on doing what has been done.  The question is, is there a solution, or more likely solutions to such a complicated and difficult problem and can it be achieved in the environment of what can and could be done as compared to what will be done and how long it will take, and how costly this will become and the trade offs that must be suffered to some how balance what is being done with what can be done vs. what is wanted to be done as to reform.

We do have health care for all, sorta, but not good health care for all, for everyone and not cost effective and efficient,

We are not a 'healthy' country for all that is put into the effort, it starts with lifestyle and ends with choices we make and that are made for us.  And clearly we can not be serious, in part because we are seriously divided by facts and beliefs that don't reconcile with action to solve what has to be solved.

And yes, it is complicated, complex and difficult, and always has, and probably always be.

 the ACA is flawed.

I guess we're talk'n about a webpage, not the ACA.  The ACA's only in  the sign-up process.  Let's at least wait for a week until after it starts

and the fixes are flawed .

What fixes?  The ACA hasn't been touched except for some political akn'g. Lord, can't make some people happy even when we hang'em with a brand new rope.

and will be flawed

We are psychic this morning and we know the future LOL...

oh right, we should have adopted the republican plan....what was it now??? efdn....everything's fine, do nothing...just maybe if these assholes had used the 'c' word (compromise) and actually tried to work with democrats, we might not be dealing with the problems we do have. but remember since obama was elected the cry was, as michelle bachman said 'it's our time...no compromise!'

yes the aca is flawed...it can be fixed...i'm sure social security and medicare had glitches to begin with...and the plan will have to be adapted but for the first time in over 100 years of trying, there seems to be an attempt to extend medical care to those who have not been deemed worthy of it by segments of society who did not have to worry about it. and just maybe we can fix the runaway costs of healthcare that have been engulfing our society while decreasing the care available to all...

but of course rational discourse is sadly lacking.... here are a few examples of cod's people from a board...

@Fallon:
yep this is absolutely going to suck!  My husband is seriously looking into moving out of the country.  As patriotic as we are.  We fear the worse is yet to come.  He is looking into Costa Rica right now.   Just have to learn spanish, but  my MIL is spanish so that will help.

We are going there at the first of the year to scope out the land and situation.  I really dont want to leave because my family is getting so small now and I mainly only have my 65 yr old mom left.  I can't leave her and I know she wont come.
If the taxes hit us in 2015 I will have to file bankruptcy for sure.  No way I can afford to pay the IRS back.  I will be paying for years!
Think this is also why in March we are taking a loan out from his 401k and paying off the house and all other small debts.
(gee you think they might get a clue that costa rica has socialized medicine? or that bankruptcy doesn't alleviate debts to the irs?)
I heard earlier because he is angry at the French right now he wants to ship The statue of Liberty back.  Tell me this is a rumor...sheesh
I don't know what made him think that his first job while getting into office was writing a health care plan.  He has no experience etc etc etc....  We are finding that out now.
(it is permissible to roll your eyes at some of this)
@Ann2800: did you hear that he is sending an apology to Afghanistan for us invading them??  or how about the pay off to the pirates that kidnapped the americans?  Since when do we pay off terrorist and promote it??
(doesn't it seem that logic is in short supply and it isn't just the aca that has them pissed)

I'm sure Costa Rica will be glad to have them like we were all the Cubans Castro picked personally and sent over here LOL...

You guys need to know what is important.

You bet. What did Bush lie about in Iraq?

any questions why discussions with cod are f'ing pointless? i guess he never saw the news of colin powell describing his embarrassment when he found out that the 'facts' of wmds in iraq that he put before the un were not facts at all

So Powell lied. Just like Hillary and the president about a spontaneous riot because of a You tube video. But how did Bush lie?

Help me out here, when did Bush tell the truth?

base is a true-blue GOP believer...Cheney (or any other ranking repub) could bend one of his kids over a park bench and bone 'em up the wazoo in broad daylight - And before they had time to start screaming for help, base would log in here to blame Obama for it.

He even thinks he'll go to heaven for putting the party ahead of his own kids, because that's what the party tells him.

herein lies the problem....powell was given 'evidence' manufactured for the purpose by the bush administration and especially dick cheney (who was very eager to flex american muscle)...powell was assured by bush that there were wmds in iraq and therefore put the case before the un with phoney evidence from the bush white house.....can you grasp this concept?....and you equate confusion and stupidity over benghazi with an invasion and resulting war that cost 4,282 american lives with another 30,182 american wounded and trillions of dollars and you think it is the same thing or that "obama is worser"....as the psychiatrist said to the patient in the cellophane underwear..."i can see your nuts"

I'm glad it's so flawed, it allows for Hillary to come in and change it to a one payer system, what Obama should have insisted on. This thing we've got now wasn't Obama's plan, this came out of congress supposedly bi-partisan, like a committee can create something good. Ha!
