President Obama will allow people who had health insurance plans canceled to keep existing plans for another year.

  • Won't cover preexisting conditions
  • Insurance Companies can cancel your insurance if you get sick.

actually this shit keeps up and the real winners are going to be insurance companies. i keep wondering how much money they've spent on this skirmish in the ongoing war against real healthcare reform...

and here's the great part....that other side of the boat that was rowing in the opposite direction and shut the government down to attempt to kill off obamacare or at least delay it for a year (that was their last position) now says a year delay is not enough....gee why wouldn't anyone want to negotiate with a group of slippery people who change their positions almost on a daily basis and rewrite reality to fit their dementia and delusions?

geee what a surprise! the republican plan is 'just do what we did before the aca came along'

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama would veto a bill sponsored by a Republican congressman that would allow insurers to offer healthcare plans slated to be canceled because they do not meet the new U.S. healthcare law's standards, the White House said on Thursday.

The veto threat came hours after Obama, under fire for the botched roll-out of his signature domestic policy achievement, said health insurers could extend by at least one year policies that were due to be canceled because they do not comply with new minimum requirements.

The White House has said previously that the bill, sponsored by Representative Fred Upton of Michigan, would undermine the law known as Obamacare because it would allow plans that had been canceled to be sold to anyone, not just people who wanted to renew their existing plans.

The bill "rolls back the progress made by allowing insurers to continue to sell new plans that deploy practices such as not offering coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, charging women more than men, and continuing yearly caps on the amount of care that enrollees receive," the White House said in a statement on Thursday.

they could name that bill the unaffordable insuring the insurance industry profits bill

I got what I wanted? I wanted this law delayed in order to be fixed. I wanted people who where promised that they could keep their insurance be able to keep their insurance. Not a radical idea. Now the president wants those bad apple companies that issued sub par policies to offer those policies back. And somehow this screw up is what I wanted or what the republicans wanted. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

yes it's what you wanted....and funny we didn't hear you whining about the insurance companies before....just obama....so now you are going to whine that the full implementation is delayed like little teddy cruz wanted....think you can make up your mind if you can find it?

Not really delayed is it?  Idiots can renew their original policies for one more year.

Why on earth would they want one?

The new ones are cheaper for the most part and have much better benefits.  If I wanted a new car I certainly wouldn't start at Pick-A-Part.
