TBD on Ning

As I have given up on home delivered newspapers, USA Today is my daily E-newpaper.  Accordingly, I often check their best seller list to see what is happening in the world of popular literature.  Today, they published a listing of 365 # 1 bestsellers since 1993.  The list starts with "Private Parts" by Howard Stern and ends with "Allegiant' by Veronica Ross.

Here is the listing:

I hope you enjoy the stroll down memory lane of what was hot and when it was hot.  I, for one, is happy the trend started by "Private Parts" didn't continue for too long.

I went to the link, but how do you get it to show the list of books?  It showed the title, and a blank screen.  What am I not doing?

I don't know.  I just tried it and it worked for me.   Here it is again: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2013/10/30/twenty-years-of...

Link worked for me - just had to wait a little bit for it to fill in. Not sure what to think of the list. Of course, "Best Seller" doesn't equate with "Best Book" for me all the time! I'll take a closer look............

It just is a fascinating look back at what people were reading the past 20 years.  It only includes books that made it to the top of the bestseller list, so some great books are probably left off.  Also, some real junk makes the list, as they are popular for a week or two then fade quickly. A few of the books are true classics and had an impact on our world, others were trash that attracted the curious. I have been among the latter readers.

Very interesting. Of course, the same names kept showing up, but I suppose that was to be expected.

I still can't get it to work.  A screen did fill in that showed Harry Potter, but whatever I clicked, it didn't show me any lists.

I give up.

Joanne, the link was in the form of the book covers, not a written list. Worked fine for me.

The format of the story is in something that USA Today is calling "Interactive Graphics."  You have to play with it a bit to work the bells and whistles.  I guess if you are going to take "The Nation's Newspaper" to a new level of "The Nations E-Newspaper" you have to do more than just words and pictures.  This is the result.  http://www.usatoday.com/topic/e01c4890-85a2-4e0b-a3dd-58bd88e71251/...

Well, yesterday I finally did get it to show a list, which was broken down into 3 or 4 sections.  And USAToday can keep their "interactive graphics" .  I thought "E" stuff was supposed to make things easier for us to view. Hah! (but I never did get the part that showed "book covers".

I'm for a good ole fashioned "click on it,andthe list appears".

I have read 39 of these books.
