I picked up a couple of titles this morning at our retirement complex library:

"Those Who Save Us," Jenna Blum is a highly acclaimed story of survival in Nazi Germany.

"Their Eyes Were Watching God" Zora Neale Hurston is a classic story of life for a black woman in the 1930's South.

Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg have begun a new series with The Heist, which I enjoyed.  FBI woman who lives to catch a fearless con artist, is ordered to team-up with him to catch the really bad guys.

My God, rapa! I thought I was the only one here who could look back 60 years or more to a high school graduation.

I'll have a 50th coming up in a couple of yrs. so I'm right there with y'all.

As you may have noticed from my rant, er, post, I'm waiting on 4 new ones to come in. Til then, I'm just re-reading the In Death series.

Still reading In the Garden of the Beast which tells the story of our American ambassador to Germany during Hitler's rise to power.  I don't read for days and then read for hours.  That has been my reading style.  I cannot borrow books fro the library for that reason, I'd be forever renewing it or owing fines.....

Also started Elizabeth which is a biography of Elizabeth I.  I got so confused over all the names and name changes I had to start the story over.  Was only 6 or so pages in.  When people were given new titles i.e., Lord....their name changed.  I'll start over with a new strategy for learning names, write them down.....

Mandy, I read Those Who Save Us several years ago and loved it. It made me realize how little we really know of our parents' lives before they became our parents.

I am almost done with Carl Hiaasen's Strip Tease.  While I enjoy the characters and humor, it really is telling me more than I ever wanted to know about strip joints and those who frequent them.

I have The Son by Philipp Meyer waiting.  DH just finished it and he liked it.

My 50th is next year....how is that possible???  I'm not that old!!  LOL!!

Currently reading Elizabeth Strout's The Burgess Boys; as the oldest of 5 siblings, I always enjoy stories that deal with the ins and outs of sibling rivalry.

I also just picked up "Wasted" at the library - and also the new J.D. Robb "Thankless in Death".  Good thing I have a couple days off...!

Reads-to much ...don't know if you are watching the Windians tonight?

TNBopeep...cracking up over the rant with. Slash thru...posting. I love that action...as so many times I want to make that funny indicator. Used to visit the blog by the Author Dave Barry and he uses all the time. Don't think we have any posters here that live in Florida...he is famous there...sort of like Carl Hiaason.

Let It Burn...got thru 6 discs and 1/2 of the last #7 ...the previous listener had placed the thing on his peanut butter toast??? I cleaned off and will re-listen tonight...ordered the book...just in case I can't get a clear understanding of the revelations of this mystery!

****shakes head***

Longmire Author gonna be I my 'hood next month. My Danl should be excited. ~mlo

I just finished Criminal Enterprise by Owen Laukkanen.  This is the second book by the author of The Professionals, which several you commented on a few weeks ago. This newer book was written in much the same style as the earlier one, except the “bad guys” were bank robbers, rather than kidnappers. It was still a good read, but I hope the author takes a different tack when writing his next one.

Hi everyone.  It has been so long since I looked at TeeBeeDee that I was afraid it wouldn't be here, but it is and so is my favorite group.  I love reading about what you all are reading.  I haven't read a book since I got out of Bible College in June.  I think two years of intense reading got to me and just had to rest a bit but now I see what you all are reading and it has wet my appetite.  I can for sure see that if Sue Grafton is on "W" there are a few books I need to catch up with. Ha. Have a good day reading everyone.

Grammie Sue it is always good to hear from you.  I am so happy for you finishing Bible College.  What a wonderful experience that must have been.  You will get back to reading when you are ready.  I sometimes hit a dry spell and don't read for a while.   love and hugs, asonya (auntsono)
