Weekend is here

Is everyone ready for the weekend?  Do you have plans for things to do?  I have Saturday and part of Sunday without the baby to watch.  I'm hoping to hang out with friends and have some laughs and maybe some good food.

Karen. In Mexico they take  2 aspirins, then  make a good tea and put I jigger of Tequila and lemon and  jug it down sweating  it out and good-bye cold!!!  lol Maybe you should try that?

Well, I can't afford the Tequila, but my son has a bottle of Jack Daniels, blended with Honey Liquour that is FABULOUS!!  I'm thinking of trying to make a hot toddy with it.  I feel better, more strength, but I'm still coughing til my head and my rib cage hurts.

Karin. For the cough I used to give my children syrup from an onion. I  would make a hole in the middle of the onion and fill it with sugar. Then I would place it in a Pyrex dish over a pan with water and let the sugar melt. Then give them the syrup. They would stop coughing. Instead of filling them with heavier cough medicines,  this worked and now they do it to their own kids. lol  Doesn't taste bad either and it doesn't harm you.   :-)  Try it.

i remember when i burned my tongue,the doctor recommended that i keep it in cider.

Karen, this will sound weird,  but in the spring I had a real bad cough for over a month, finally broke down and went to the dr, he had me put vicks on the bottom of my feet and put on socks. It really gets rid of the hacking cough.

Plans for the week-end. Went to lecture this morning on saving your memory, went for pedicure, will go to dinner with my neighbor tonight. So far nothing else going for the week-end, but its still early.

Thanks to all who offer such an array of remedies.  I think I might try one or more of these ideas.  I really need to get better before Monday, because I have shopping for my newest great granddaughter's upcoming shower to do. 

Did I tell you I am going to be a great grandma again?  In November.  Lily Summer.  So I don't want to pass on this cold to her Mommy-to-be.
