What are some odd or mysterious classics you remembered? Not necessarily "mysteries" to today's standards. Maybe they're more in the psychological thriller category.

I just finished watching "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "whatever Happened to Baby Jane".....both very strange....

Hitchcock, of course.

Citizen Kane was a mysterious thriller type, as was The Third Man and other H.G.Wells classics.

The first one I think of is Laura. Rebecca also springs to mind!

If you want odd - I have a million starting with David Lynches' Eraserhead. If you want more classic try The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or The Andalousian Dog.

Ahhh...Laura. I was TRYING to think of THAT one when I was watching DORIAN GRAY.

A great one starring Joseph Cotten. Shadow of a Doubt.

I adore that film - it is very spooky!

Gaslight - Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman, not to mention a very young Angela Lansbury

Lansbury was brilliant in that role!

That is so interesting, because some people I know just hated that movie. (I kind of liked it). I think the Ring does a really good job of being spooky (in that same atmospheric way).
