`HOT' or `NOT'

Well folks, here is my definition of what is `HOT' these days...

"Who is he ?"  I can hear you ask;

sorry, but for the time being I'm a keepin' him all to myself !

So, anyone out there want to `share' who they think is `HOT' or `NOT' ?

Both males and females included, and meanwhile,

Lol Phil, yep, thanks, William Holden would most certainly have been in

the `HOT` category back then and another `hunk 0' spunk' just as you say.

Yes, there were so very many films the Duke made back in the 50's and 60's

and now you got me trying to remember which female actress I always

preferred as his leading lady...hope I remember soon, lol!

Yes Phil, one of a few favorite John Wayne films was;

There was a fantastic line-up of cast members, it was a great story

and had a lot of funny parts in it, the young film star in it

was an up and coming new star named `Fabian' -

Yeah Karin, in his young days, the Duke was one of the `hottest' guys in town,

and the thing is, he didn't need to go showing his body off to prove it -

it was his words and actions that most found mesmerizing.

But you know what? He'd be considered rude, crude, and socially unacceptable by today's standards. We like our leading men a bit less manly and macho nowadays. We want a man who's "in touch with his feminine side" nowadays. :-(. The Duke didn't have a feminine side.......thank God!! I like my men to be men! And he was unashamedly all man. (sigh!)

Karin - you do shed light on what still exists on a subliminal level

even up to this very day!

It's similar to the double-standards that were placed on females as well.

In the `old' days, it was known that the men preferred their women

to `be seen' as prim and proper, God fearing and all encompassing

carers of society -

EXCEPT.... that they then should let down their hair,

together with everything else in the bedroom, that in turn,

would place them among'st the earthiest and most robust

prostitutes that could be found.

It is really interesting, as I do understand what you are saying,

it's like we still yearn for a man to `be a man' with all their `moucho'

ways and leadership qualities, yet still be willing to become bare

and vulnerable whilst engaging with us females to our emotional

needs and wants.  Aaah, the thrill of it all, lol.
