a bat flew in my basement many years ago.

picked up the snake with the limb cutters; put on my gardening gloves and picked up the possum by the scruff of his neck.  He wanted to come back in so bad.  The snake died.

still got the snake in the roof..every now and then it will come out and gobble up a bird.

also, every house here has at least 3-4 green tree snakes in there walls,  they eat the gekos

Bird in the garage kept flying madly into the window.  Opened the garage door to let it out and smoke billowed out, garage was on fire.  Thanks to the little bird, no damage; caught it real early (electrical fire)

We had a bat in our fireplace in WY, birds frequently in CA, I leave the french doors open a lot.

Hummingbird got  stuck in my garage and  kept trying to fly toward one of the LONG/tall windows because he saw the hummingbird feeder. I gently cupped my hand over him and took him outside but he wouldnt leave my hand and was absolutely STILL so I set him on a stump near the feeder and INSTANTANEOUSLY, 2 OTHER hummingbirds DIVE BOMBED him and he flew away. Holding a hummingbird is like holding a delicate glass sculpture that weighs NOTHING!! Meanwhile, I moved away, got divorced and one day YEARS later (3 0r 4) my ex mother in law sent me a copy of BIRDS AND BLOOMS magazine where she happened to see my picture and story of the incident.

Another incident is not exactly a wild animal BUT.....several years ago, my daughter had every pet you could think of and she took REALLY good care of everyone. In fact, I had to yell at her a few times to STOP giving the hamster a BATH, stop cleaning the cage 4 times a week (it stresses animals OUT), and PLEASE...MUST you walk the lizard? (LOL) BUT there were a few pets  I would NOT even discuss getting. ONE was a SNAKE...given that EVERYTHING had escaped at one point or another (including water frogs), I would NOT have a snake...NO WAY!! BUT she kept TRYING...!!!

ONE DAY, she came into the computer room just before Christmas and said VERY SWEETLY, HI MOMMY!! HOW ARE YOU? She was smiling like the cat who swallowed the canary. She was only THAT happy when  it was about ANIMALS so I said, WHAT do you want NOW, MElissa?! She said, DID you get me an early PRESENT?? I said, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???!!! She took me in her room and THERE at the foot of her bed was a Baby Ball Python curled up, sleeping....HOLY CRAP...Being the animal kid she was, she was able to quickly put together a "home" for it till we could figure out how it got there and where to TAKE IT!!  A BALL PYTHON is not just something you are gonna find in your backyard....not in America anyway...it is a "PET STORE" snake.  WE finally figured out that when she went to pick up some ornaments she had been selling at a local pet store, one of their escaped snakes had crawled into the box. They were in the process of MOVING and had knocked a lid off and he escaped. When she told them, she thought it was theirs, they commended her for not just KEEPING an "expensive" snake and let her keep it.....UGH!!! I told her FINE, just keep a BRICK on that cage and....MERRY CHRISTMAS.....LOL!!

In one house we had sliding glass doors & 3 hummingbird feeders in the back patio.  Once a hummingbird flew into to the glass doors & got stunned.  I went out & picked up the little thing so the cat couldn't get it.  I left my hands open so when it recovered it's breath, it stood up, looked at me & fluffed its wings a bit then finally took off.  I was very glad it recovered!!  I've also had birds & a snake come in, the birds I'd chase out with a broom scooting them toward the open door.  They usually got the message quickly, well, some did & others took longer :)
