THE STORYTELLER

Have any of you read Jodi Picoult's THE STORYTELLER?  I have only 100 pages left to read and am totally wrapped up in Minka's story about the Holocaust. I feel so blessed to live in a land where pogroms are not a daily occurence. This Picoult novel is much more intense than her SING YOU HOME.

Finished the book.  Found it quite a good read. It ended as I expected and had hoped it would.

Thanks rapa, I have ordered it at my library...  151 holds on 50 copies... but the large print which is available for 3 weeks instead of 7 days has only 6 holds on 1 copy.  I go for the large print because that gives both Jerry & I time to read it.

 

I just finished The Lost Wife which is set in WWII in Czechoslovakia, the country of one set of my great-grandparents, which added a special interest for me. The story dragged at the beginning but I liked it once I got about 1/2 way through.  I had never heard of Terezin concentration camp before and it caused me to Google it for more info and pictures.  I was disappointed, however, in the ending. There was no follow through.  I have read many WWII novels in the past few years that were better.

Jodi Picoult stories are never disappointing to me.  My first read of her writing was  Nineteen Minutes.  She always gives you something to ponder when you are finished reading.

Not yet.  I believe I've read all of the rest of hers.   They are extremely formulaic, but nonetheless are almost always a good read because she researches her issues so well. The first one I read was on the Autistic child charged with murder - House Rules, I believe.
