A Walk In The Snow

The day was hazy but there still was snow falling from the nearby trees as the couple kept silently walking. She held on to his hand very tight , fearing he would let go. They had recently had a play of words and she felt guilty about what she said. He kept quiet but she could see he was brooding by his facial expressions. His jaw kept showing how he would intermittently tighten his muscles as though he wanted to bite hard into something; then the red rugged face would be still and just kept looking forward.

"I know I was wrong to say that." she looked up at him trembling with fright as she shivered. He looked down at her and gave her a smile. "Don't worry. It's over." he answered. Let's just keep on walking and see where this takes us.

He squeezed her hand and she knew. She smiled and they kept on walking in silence...
