TBD

TBD on Ning

I like to rent movies online (mostly from iTunes) and since they're only a few bucks, I'm not real picky about which ones I rent. However, sometimes I feel like even a few bucks is too much to pay for some of the crap I rent!

I'm pretty careful when selecting a movie, I'll read the reviews that are listed with the movie description and will always watch the trailer. Then, if it interests me, I'll rent it.

Last night I rented "Alex Cross" -- what an absolute piece of garbage! Bad writing, bad acting, bad directing, bad bad bad. Total waste of my time.

Does this ever happen to you? What do you do? Have you ever stopped watching a bad movie, or are you like me and watch the whole thing thinking it'll get better?

omg, SUTHINSOUL....i'd Climb the Highest Mountain is MY FAVORITE movie too!!! No one has ever really heard of it. Of course, im the oddball with people i know. I am not well versed on movies of at least the past 15 years but i LOVE movies from the 40s and 50s. Well.....im open minded but i really do love those old movies!!

My daughter got to pick two movies for my ex and I and her and her other half to watch.  "Somerset"...with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster........and "The Untamed Heart" with Christian Slater.  First, we get to watch a returning Civil War soldier come home to his wife....who knows instantly something is not kosher.....and then she discovers he's an imposter.....but he's much nicer than her husband was, and she falls in love with him.  Happy ending.....right?  WRONG!  The village finds out he's a thief who's running from the law, and they hang him!!!

Then, Christian Slater has a bad heart....so they transplant the heart of a pig into him (yes, you read that right....a PIG!)......and he feels much better, meets a girl, falls in love ......happy ending, right?  WRONG!!!  He dies in the middle of a hockey game.

My ex and I wouldn't speak to my daughter for days.  And we never let her pick the movies again.  What a waste of 4 hours of my precious time!!

Well, I guess I don't have to watch either of those two movies! LOL

I saw both of those movies. I think the one about the lost soldier was called SOMMERSBY. I liked it because i LOVE Richard Gere....lol. But the movie was too predictable, i remember. Everyone KNEW what was gonna happen, right?!

Everyone except my ex, apparently!  He kept hoping Gere would change his story and he'd be spared. When he died, my ex was devastated!  He talked about that movie and how it sucked for weeks.

Ugh! Not very nice when you have to watch two depressing movies like those. I saw  Somerset long ago and came out still asking questions to myself. Why did I stay that long?   Weird!

I'm not much into movies, but all the ones I like are older ones.  I don't know one new one from the other.

I don't watch many movies.  But I did recently purchase all five seasons of Babylon 5 and all the movies. :)

My son took me to see Bruce Willis' "Die Hard" movie tonight.  I know I'm not your average woman in the movies.....but I love watching Bruce Willis doing his thing.  The plot was intriguing, the special effects were great, the crashes were really realistic and exciting, and the dialogue was well-written and fun.

I like escapism movies.  This one kept me on the edge of my seat, and also afforded me a lot of laughs.  Good fun.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Die Hard movie -- thanks for the review!

I watched The Bourne Legacy the other night (for the 3rd or 4th time!) --- I like that series, especially the first one, but this last one was exciting, action-packed, and best of all he gets the "girl" in the end -- a true love story! LOL

Am getting my NOOK set up tomorrow to stream movies thru to the TV am excited to see how that is going to work. Plus my son and his wife got me a new HD TV for Valentines day.

HD is so good.  I like that it's so much clearer.
