The devil take the hindmost. All my life I thought that meant, basically, screw the devil - he gets very little or nothing.
After seeing an Andrew Lloyd Weber reference, I looked it up. The definition basically said I take care of my interests and the devil can have everyone else. Well, that's mean! That's like nice guys finish last. I like my version better.
