Does it affect Boomers as well

MAYBE it was because they had met on OkCupid. But when the dark-eyed musician with artfully disheveled hair asked Shani Silver, a social media and blog manager in Philadelphia, out on a “date” Friday night, she was expecting at least a drink, one on one.

“At 10 p.m., I hadn’t heard from him,” said Ms. Silver, 30, who wore her favorite skinny black jeans. Finally, at 10:30, he sent a text message. “Hey, I’m at Pub & Kitchen, want to meet up for a drink or whatever?” he wrote, before adding, “I’m here with a bunch of friends from college.”

Turned off, she fired back a text message, politely declining. But in retrospect, she might have adjusted her expectations. “The word ‘date’ should almost be stricken from the dictionary,” Ms. Silver said. “Dating culture has evolved to a cycle of text messages, each one requiring the code-breaking skills of a cold war spy to interpret.”

“It’s one step below a date, and one step above a high-five,” she added...  (end snip of story)

oooooo, sounds like maybe a catfight brewing....of course you know i'm kiddin

Nah Tim, I'm not the catfight type.  I'm so docile from too many years in Maryland.  Karin's even further south, so I'm sure she's not either.

Hi Karin,

The thing is, if some guy calls me "Babe" in person they get the same look my mother used to stop charging rhinos.  It never happens again.  If you can't remember my name then can you find your way to the door or does your fading brain need help getting there... Evil smile.

And yeah, we are picking up bad habits from the younger generations - IMO.  :)

One of the last guys I worked for used to call me sweetie.  I told him numerous times my names Helen.  Eventually I just ignored him when he did it.  He figured out why and would correct himself.  Fool had never been in a long term relationship or married.  Wonder why!

Hey Karin, not sure which interception, but we won.  I had some doubts in the 4th quarter, but they did pull it out.  It was a terrific game.  I just can't imagine sitting there in the cold for 4.5 hours.

Congrats, Helen!  I think we blew it when we didn't let Peyton throw there in the final minutes of regular play.....and in the final minutes of overtime. But I'm not the coach.

Now I have to hope the Ravens are in the Super Bowl.....cuz if they're not......I don't have a horse in the race, and I probably won't even watch the Super Bowl.  No fun if there's no one to pull for.

Thanks Karin.  I want to see who wins tomorrow.  Would be lots of fun to see the Ravens play New England, because my oldest son is a New England fan.  His 7 year old son and his girlfriend are both Ravens fans too.  What would really be funny would be to  hear my grandson telling his dad why the Ravens are better.  He knows stats and all that.  His mother said next year she's going to let him play fantasy football with them.  She thinks he's ready and I thinks she's right.

You're lucky; neither of my great grandsons have any interest in football.  The oldest one lives for skateboarding.  The other one likes basketball.
