Since I'm the one starting this story I'm going to put a couple of stories that make me smile. One happened when my now 28 year old son was only 2. We had a tree up and decorated and while i was on the phone, in the other room, he takes a baseball bat and starts hitting the tree. The fact I never killed him that day, just shows I wasn't prone to child abuse. I did put him in the crib for a good while that afternoon.
Another story that comes to mind was when my oldest grandson, who was about 5 at the time, was asked by Santa Claus what he wanted him to bring him that year. My grandson told Santa tnat he didn't really bring the stuff, because you order it on the internet and UPS guy brings it.
Heard a kid on some news show tonight and they were asking her how she thought santa keeps all the lists straight and she told the guy that santa writes it all on his iPad. It's good to know Santa isn't technologically challenged. :)

back in the 70's two days before Christmas my first husband
( who was very thrifty or better yet very cheap )
came home with a tree that made Charlie Browns tree look spectacular
missing branches and giant gaps all over the place
having three small daughters I said nothing
but the next day I got out the pruning shears and the drill
I fixed the tree as well as I could and placed all the gifts
a day early under the tree
all was was well but our tradition of keeping the tree up
until January first was not kept that year because of fire threat
as the "fixed" branches dried and browned rapidly
So cute! I remember all thos icicles on the trees back then.
When I was growing up in Italy we didn't have Santa Claus, we received gifts on January 6th, the day of the epiphany. Since we didn't have Christmas trees, we had nativity scenes, called Presepio.
I never realized that people in Italy didn't have Christmas trees or Christmas gifts on Christmas day. I guess I never thought about it. Always learning something new.
