...The Ranch's answer to you -know - what - with no rules.

Go ahead...tell us what you're having for dinner - we can't wait! Got a cute pic of kitty peeking out of a paper bag? Post it! We live for that stuff!

Math addict? How about a refresher on the Pythagorean Theorem?

Like macaroni and cheese? Tell us why!

So even if you're not a writer or a poet (yet), there's still plenty of fun things to do at the Armadillo!

Oh baby, oh baby!

Whoa!

I just heard.

Tomorrow's the end of the world.

Bummer.

Do tell!  Tomorrow where?  The US?  Europe? Australia?  Is it going to end all at once, or will there be sort of a chain reaction as it becomes tomorrow in different parts of the world?

Well?

Did it happen?

I can't tell.

It did for John Boehner ...

and the elephant he rode in on

Dear friends,

I hope those of you who celebrate Christmas had a nice, peaceful one surrounded by the ones you love.

Conversation I had today:

Me: You must be hungry.

6-year-old:  I'm very hungry -- I'm hungry as a pumpkin!

Me:  Do pumpkins get hungry?  I didn't know that.

6-year-old:  Yeah -- they're full of seeds!

Funny you should mention that…

Yesterday, this ‘ol boy came into the cafeteria rubbing his hands together and announced “I’m so hungry – I could eat a door!” out loud.

I waited for more, but nothing else was forthcoming.

Kind of made me wonder exactly what kind of door he could eat?

Front door? Back door? Screen door? Wooden? Metal? Closet? Bathroom? Trap?

Shoot -I hate being left hanging like that…

Indeed.

Hmm…

Lessee…

John Kerry wants to be Secretary of State.

Isn’t that the John Kerry who was on the “Super Committee” that failed to forge a deficit reduction deal not so long ago?

And he’s being rewarded for that failure?

I’m confused.

I thought the Republicans were out of power.

Mr. Obama…!

(I don't forget this stuff)

In 1967, a band called “The Strawberry Alarm Clock” burst on to the music scene with a song called “Incense and Peppermints” – a song which  fell  easily into the current psychedelic  mindset of…me. (at the time).

Feelin’ kind of stupid, though now….

I will pay cash money to anyone who can make sense of the following lyrics .

Name your price.

Good sense, innocence, cripplin' and kind.
Dead kings, many things I can't define.
Oh Cajun spice, sweats and blushers your mind.
Incense and peppermints, the color of thyme.

Who cares what games we choose?
Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Incense and peppermints, meaningless nouns.
Turn on, tune in, turn your eyes around.
Look at yourself, look at yourself,
Yeah, yeah.
Look at yourself, look at yourself,
Yeah, yeah,
Yeah, yeah.

Tune-a by the cockeyed world in two.
Throw your pride to one side, It's the least you can do.
Beatniks and politics, nothing is new.
A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view.

Who cares what games we choose?
Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Good sense, innocence, crippled and kind.
Dead kings and many things I can't define.
Oh Cajun spice, sweats and blushers your mind.
Incense and peppermints, the color of thyme.

Who cares what games we choose?
Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Incense, peppermints, incense, peppermints.

Sha-la-la, sha-la-la....
