I would like to mention three novels that are associated with the psychology of the Newtown tragedy.  One is "The Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult where she tries to examine the personalities and conflicts of a mass murder in a school in New Hampshire.  Another is "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb who takes two teachers who were in the Columbine tragedy and traces how it affected their lives.  And the third is a bit more controversial, "One Shot" by Lee Child is a Jack Reacher novel, an ex military sniper and his investigation of a mass murder in Indianapolis.  The controversy is that the movie version was scheduled to be released yesterday by has been delayed  due to content.  Is showing such killings on the screen a good idea?

Now that the young man has been identified as having Asperger's Syndrome, another book comes to mind: Jodi Picoult, "House Rules."  http://www.amazon.com/House-Rules-Novel-Jodi-Picoult/dp/0743296443

The shooter did have Asperger but had other conditions as well.

In general Asperger is not associated with violence or extreme behavior it is mostly an internal state of being.
