I might have said this before ( in a different life and website) but it still irks me. The state I am residing in has more disabled spaces than regular spaces. (almost) Now I know the disabled need close up parking, but are there really that many people up here that are disabled??? I think not.... ok, I am done.

Oh my, that is hilarious. Just yesterday I saw this woman step out of a car wearing those. It just looked so damn funny. I sort of like things like that. It's entertaining. I will admit to walking around in sweat pants on my walks though. That is a small step up from pajama pants. :-)
Nearly all my pet peeves have to do with driving. Tops on that list are idiots who absolutely positively INSIST on constantly driving in the left lane. They cause backups and can actually create an environment conducive to dangerous accidents.
Oh don't get me started on driving skills ( or lack of) Seattle ranks number 4 in the US for bad driving.
That's because they're all smoking weed Seattle! LOL
Tailgaters aare the worst, here they do it all the time. Usually they are in those big trucks and the headlights are blinding you in the side mirrors.
My son used to drive me nuts with tailgating, and I am the guy that taught him to drive. I was constantly on his ass about him being on everyone else's ass on the freeway. Well, he was finally cured of that, a relatively cheap lesson considering he could have caused a serious accident instead. He got a traffic ticket for speeding and.... yep, tailgating! I was not there when it happened, but I perfectly described the scene to him (surprised he admitted as much). I said "you were out driving late and everybody is whipping along doing ten mph over the limit. Then you and ten other drivers pass a cop waiting for speeders. He can't stop them all, so guess who he is going to pick? How about that guy who is four feet from the car in front of him. I hope you understand THAT is why you were picked out." He seems much better than he used to be since then.
We are getting to be a "me, me, me society unfortunately. The lack of manners in general are going by the wayside. I had a lady ( and I use that term loosely) crash into me with her shopping cart and she looked at me like I should kiss her hind side for being in her way. I wanted to barf......
I drove from FL to VA to CT to OH to WI to GA and back to FL between a few days before Thanksgiving and last Sunday -- talk about bad drivers!!!! I found them all.
Pet peeves -- tailgating, especially in a minivan with wife and kids. That's just plain stupid and reckless. Also, driving in the left lane. Had a couple people move over to the right to let me pass (I also hate people who pass on the right without giving the left-laner a chance to pull over) and then they pulled back into the left lane behind me. Another pet peeve - people who change lanes in front of you and then slow down so now you have to pass them!!!! I could go on and on and on....
Yep, there are some bad ones out there. I hate it in the winter when it is dark, icy, rainy conditions and they still do that.
About the last sixty miles to my cabin is on a nondivided highway which brings me to another pet peeve. Sometimes, it is not easy to pass on this stretch. There are a number of places though where a passing lane is provided. For a stretch of about 2 miles the road goes to two lanes on one side. The theory is, slower traffic moves to the right, allowing faster traffic to pass. The behavior I'm about to describe is not real common, but I usually witness it at least once on the way up and once on the way back.
The speed limit on this stretch is 55. You're behind some nimrod going between 48 and 51 mph. It's busy, theres hills and curves making it difficult to pass. But that's ok, here comes the passing lane. You anticipate the nimrod going to the right, but (s)he doesn't. What's worse is, the nimrod has now sped up to 60 to 65 mph. Huh!?!?! Well the first couple times I experienced this, I just figured the nimrod suddenly realized they were traveling under the limit, so no problem, I'll just stay behind them. (You know what's coming don't you?) We get to the end of the passing lane stretch, and once again the nimrod is going between 48 and 51 mph. I used to think these people were just plain jerks, but I have a hard time believing there are that many jerks. My theory is, they are crappy drivers. They are not comfortable traveling at or a little above the posted limit where it is a single lane as they don't trust their ability to handle the vehicle in what they perceive as a "tight" space. When the passing lane comes up, the road is typically a little straighter and naturally a lot wider. Now they are comfortable driving faster, but appear to either be oblivious to the fact that their behavior is preventing cars from passing them when the opportunity is there or they just don't give a damn. Now when I see one of these nimrods, I blow by them doing 70 if I have to, cuz I know what's coming. So far, I've never gotten a speeding ticket; actually, I've never gotten a speeding ticket my entire life. If I ever do, it will be when this occurs. I'd try to explain the behavior to the cop.
I like to use the term nimrod, it fits so well in so many situations. And I use it often when I drive through town, which I usually avoid doing. but did this evening because it's only Wednesday evening and town isn't bombarded with crazy people. Oh, but this evening encountered the guy/girl in their spandex running/biking who pay NO attention to the red light on their side, the person who stops in the MIDDLE of the busy street because they're....lost? stupid? had a stroke? what?. The nimrod who turns against the red light because it's a jagged street so the light doesn't count or the people who come out of any given coffee house or bar and just walk across the street without looking, or the oh so groovy parent with the kid and the dog who don't stop and look both ways before they cross the street (especially if Mom and Dad are "jogging" with their infant in one of those enclosed baby joggers, or whatever they are).
Parking, driving, whatever...where is the common courtesy and/or common sense anymore?
arghhh.
I used to love to drive too, now just hate it. Only go as much as I have to.Last sun was at the store looking for a place to park, a kid (30 years old) backed out of a space and broadsided my car.Called the police , in our city they don't come to private property, told us just to change info and go on. Well this kid started screaming and yelling me, calling me a dumb old lady, and said I hit him, a passerby called the police and said this young kid was harassing a senior citizen , in 2 min. there was 3 cops there. The police said the person in the drive has the right of way and the only way I could have hit him was if my car drives sideways.Anyway very rude guy. Take my car in tomorrow to get fixed.
