TBD on Ning

Instead of defining what art is or isn't, perhaps it would be more useful, interesting, informative...to talk about what you like.

I love this work by Antony Gormley, British sculptor. Quantum Cloud XX (tornado). He has many varieties on this, but I've seen this one at the Nasher in Dallas. Evidently, a new one has been constructed in Greenwich, UK, 30 meters in height and for you engineering types, you might enjoy seeing some of the work needed to build this piece.

As for me--that part both impressed me and made my eyes roll back into my head. ;-)

Oh, yeah, as a sculptor, I find myself more drawn to sculptural work.

I noticed NING thoughtfully alphabetized my tags, and felt necessary to separate "quantum" from "cloud." LOL!!!
Interesting. The first sculpture has a man inside. It's social commentary. It's pickup sticks.

Ed, Ed, you talking horse's ass
I know you're in there . . .
Well--they both do.
Have you seen the ice sculptures from the Snow & Ice Festival in Harbin, China?
