Supposedly it is easier for us to remember things from our early days than recent ones! Think back to the films of your youth!!
Thought this might be something fun to think about...
For me, the first movie I ever saw was a Disney film...Cinderella...sometime inthe 50's...was a drive in...two from this movie

"Canaries are always behind bars anyway" - "The Birdman Of Alcatraz"

It's funny - I don't remember any from my childhood. The first movie I really remember seeing was 101 Dalmatians (Disney seems to have cornered the market back then!) I do remember a line from The Dirty Dozen: This war was *not* started for your private gratification..." Most of the lines that stick with me are from films I've seen more recently 9and seen over and over!) I'll never forget Cruella Deville's hair, but what she said. (You fools, you imbeciles! ?) Not so much. Makes me think I'm more of a visual person - but she did say some great things in that film:

Cruella De Vil: What kind of sycophant are you?
Frederick: Uh... what kind of sycophant would you like me to be?

We lose more women to marriage than war, famine, and disease.

I love the smell of near-extinction!

I'll always remember that Mary Poppin's height was "Practically perfect in every way".

I didn't have access to TV as a child, so other than books, movies were my medium. I went a couple times a week...a Saturday and sometimes a Sunday matinee. I loved the movies...sucked up whatever was available...

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille. - Sunset Boulevard

"Badges ........we don't need no stinkin badges!"

From "Treasure of Sierra Madre" with Bogie.  Always loved that...remember as kids after it first came out we would all say it, trying hard to sound like that Mexican bandito pretending to be the sheriff.  Funny....fun times

Yeah, Falcon - that's one I love and remember - but maybe not from my early childhood. Bogart said a few priceless things that are fun to repeat. Who can forget lines from Casablanca like: "I don't mind a parasite. I object to a cut-rate one" or "Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Of course the one that I love and will always remember is "I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world." Naturally I wish he hadn't added "someday you'll understand" after that line though,  because it seems so patronizing to say to a woman who tells us she can't leave Victor because of her importance to his work! It seems to me she knows very well the meaning of sacrifice! (wink!)

Oh yes agree WS.  Bogie had quite a few.  He is my favorite actor and I have most of his films on DVD.  Football season almost over...so time to break out the DVDs!  I also have all of the Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes movies....just love those too.  On a Saturday night when there's nothing I am interested in  on.....I head for the Sherlock Holmes videos.  Take care WS.

There never will be another Watson as delightful as Nigel Bruce.
