he is going to RUN the heritage foundation...you know..the political arm of the koch brothers?
DeMint cited a desire to advance the conservative cause Thursday as the reason for his resignation, but the former marketing research firm owner also stands to receive a very large pay increase as Heritage's new president.
The senator's current annual salary is $174,000; The new salary is estimated to be over $1 million.

DeMint is the brain-child who primary'd hard-core conservatives, "because they were not conservative enough", in his mind. He has lost more than a dozen sure-thing GOP seats to the Democrats with his righter-than-right politics.
People like George Will of the heritage Foundation have been the voice of reason in the GOP to try and pull back extremists like DeMint. I guess it's over if the Heritage Foundation's going to pay DeMint a million bucks a year to further politicize a Think Tank like the Heritage Foundation. It's a shame in some ways, they have been the policy maker of the Conservative Movement. With DeMint they'll become no more then a joke. You wait and see...

so jim demint becomes mcconnell's boss ...surely you notice how many photo-ops mcconnell does in front of the heritage foundation curtain...gotta admit they do have smart marketing..they come up with all the neatokeeno names for groups like club for growth and americans for freedom and prosperity and freedom works....the democrats need some of that chutzpah...the they can go around crowing about silly stuff with strawpeople that pop up out of seeminglyy nowhere to cheer them...maybe something like Cheerleaders Leaping for the American People...CLAP for short....well just an idea....
